Dr. Emily Morford
DAIM, Dipl.O.M., L.Ac

My approach is grounded in the understanding that health emerges through the continual relationship between an individual and their internal and external environment. Imbalance is not viewed as a discrete malfunction, but as an expression of a larger pattern shaped by constitution, experience, environment, behavior, and circumstance.

As a doctor of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and integrative care, I look beyond the symptom to understand the conditions from which it arises. Through careful observation, pattern differentiation, and clinical inquiry, treatment seeks to address the underlying pattern rather than simply suppress its expression.

At the heart of this work is the principle of doctor as teacher. The purpose of care is not to create dependence on medicine, but to help patients develop a clearer understanding of their own patterns and a more active relationship with their health. With greater awareness comes greater discernment, and with discernment, greater capacity for change.

Health is a dynamic process. The body is continually responding to the conditions in which it exists, and those responses often contain the clues to what needs attention. Medicine can help make those patterns visible, create movement where there is stagnation, and support the conditions in which health can emerge.

I also practice at Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture in Austin, TX, a collaborative clinic focused on reproductive health.
