本草  — The Classical Art of Chinese Herbology

In Chinese medicine, healing agents extend beyond plants alone to include roots, barks, flowers, minerals, shells, and select animal substances, each chosen for their unique capacity to influence the body’s internal landscape. These agents are rarely used in isolation; rather, they are artfully composed into formulas whose synergy addresses the multifactorial nature of dis-ease.

Formulas are not intended for indefinite use. Instead, they are administered for a defined period, tailored to the individual’s constitution, presentation, and evolving needs.

针灸 Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient therapeutic modality that uses the precise placement of fine, sterile needles to influence the body’s patterns of movement, circulation, and function. By stimulating specific points, acupuncture can help release areas of tension and restriction, improve the movement of blood and fluids, and restore flow where there is stagnation. In doing so, it supports the body’s inherent capacity for vitality, adaptation, and renewal.

Treatment is individualized according to the person rather than the symptom alone. Each treatment considers the body as an interconnected whole, with attention to the particular patterns, imbalances, and circumstances present at that time.

Dynamic Therapies

Our approach draws from the breadth of Chinese medicine, centering on acupuncture and herbal medicine while incorporating therapies such as moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, tui na, and dietary therapy. Each treatment is tailored to your unique constitution, current presentation, and individual patterns of imbalance. Supportive guidance may also include lifestyle recommendations and, when appropriate, supplementation and other integrative strategies to support your care.

Sourcing & Quality

All materials used in practice are selected with attention to quality, safety, and clinical integrity. Chinese herbs are sourced from established suppliers and are organic, sustainably harvested, or wildcrafted, with appropriate testing for identity, purity, and safety. Acupuncture needles are single-use, medical-grade stainless steel from reputable manufacturers.

Topical applications, including moxa preparations and herbal oils, are prepared without unnecessary additives. Herbal oils are formulated with cold-pressed carrier oils to preserve their natural composition and avoid degradation associated with heat processing. Each aspect of care reflects careful attention to the selection and use of clinical materials, supporting safe and effective treatment within the principles of Chinese medicine.
